Leodium Gin
Story
The Leodium Gin project was born over a drink in a bar in Liège between Tim, Julien and Yoan. Liège in ancient Latin is Leodium, which is what prompted the 3 friends from the school benches to call it that. Yes, all 3 of them are students, some of them at the end of their studies, and I congratulate them on a successful challenge.
In this gin, we find rhubarb, a vegetable representative of their lands. After rhubarb, fig and its Mediterranean origins take center stage. A hint of lavender completes the picture. Leodium Gin has a simple but ambitious concept: to update an old-fashioned drink with a Liège twist. The organic label was close to their hearts, which is why they took the necessary steps to obtain it. This label is only awarded if at least 95% of the ingredients are organically grown. In their case, 100% of Leodium Gin's ingredients are organic.
Leodium Gin ingredients
Juniper berry, fig, rhubarb, lavender, coriander, angelica, cardamom, bergamot, orange peel
Taste and aroma
The sweet touch of fig is present on the first palate, with a note of lavender to counterbalance it. The acidity of rhubarb completes the tasting, giving this gin a subtle lingering finish.
Recipe
- 5cl. Leodium Gin
- 20 cl. neutral tonic
- 1 orange zest
- 1 thin slice of fig
As for me, I simply drink it with a tonic and nothing else.
And don't forget the magnificent leodium gift set.
